The health benefit Nomenclature of the Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (INAMI/RIZIV) includes the benefits (with specific hospital and ambulatory codes) that are reimbursed by the compulsory health care insurance, wholly or partially. The Nomenclature and its changes are published in the Belgian Official Gazette.
On December 27, 2018, the Belgian Official Gazette was updated. The update brought changes in chapter VIII of the Nomenclature, which regards the creation of new codes and removal of existing supplement code for flow reserve measurement.
Article 34 (interventional services) was changed with the latest update of the Nomenclature, and these changes will come into force on January 1, 2019.
The following codes have been introduced:
- Fraction flow reserve measurement in case of intermediate stenosis of the coronary artery concerning a vessel (589934-589945)
- Set of fraction flow reserve measurements in case of intermediate stenosis of the coronary artery concerning multiple vessels (589956-589960)
The following code has been removed:
- Fee supplement for carrying out a measurement of a fraction flow reserve during the performance of the procedure coded with 589013-589024 (589735-589746)
