Deadline for submission of proposals for early reimbursement of innovative in-vitro diagnostic tests in France

Ministry of Health will close applications for proposals for inclusion of novel innovative tests into the List of Acts Outside Nomenclature in 2018 (Référentiel des actes Innovants Hors Nomenclatures, RIHN) 3rd of October 2017.

RIHN list includes IVD tests, for which definite value cannot be established yet and these tests cannot be included in NABM Nomenclature. For some of the tests, validation studies within PHRC or PRME frameworks can be running, which also precludes evaluation by National Authority for Health (HAS) for NABM Nomenclature. However, due to high potential value, these tests are temporary reimbursed via research budget by the Ministry of Health.

Application can be made via Innovarc online platform.

The G-BA Innovation Committee recommends transfer to standard care for three projects in Germany

On February 16, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) has published the decisions which recommended the transfer to standard care for three completed projects. The projects relate to the prevention of antibiotic resistance, improvement of healthcare in socially disadvantaged areas, and misuse of control colonoscopies in Germany.

The preliminary version of the DRG manual for 2022 published in France

On February 15, 2022, the preliminary version of the DRG manual for 2022 was published in France. Introduced changes (new DRGs, change of DRG logic) concern surgical procedures on the breast, interventions for malignant skin tumors, interventions of excision and grafting on the skin and subcutaneous tissue, spondyloplasties.

Development of recommendations concerning companion diagnostic discontinued in Finland

The Council for Choices in Health Care in Finland (PALKO) has discontinued the development of recommendations concerning companion diagnostic tests. The respective preparations were completed in November 2021.
