Angioplasty using plain balloon is reimbursed via DRG solely in all three countries.
Angioplasty using DCB is reimbursement via combination of DRG for the procedure and add-on reimbursement for balloon itself. Reimbursement is established in England and Germany, and in process to be established for Medtronic's IN.PACT ADMIRAL and Spectranetics' Stellarex in France (positive appraisal by Medical Device and Health Technology Evaluation Committee (CNEDiMTS) at HAS and pending results of pricing negotiation).
Another country in Europe, which has brand-specific reimbursement for medical devices (Belgium), has established reimbursement only for Medtronic's IN.PACT Admiral and IN.PACT Pacific DCBs.
