Dec 2021

In late November – early December 2021, the application period for 2023 ICD-10-GM (German modification of ICD-10 diagnosis codes), OPS (procedure codes), and DRG changes was opened by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), and the Institute for Hospital Remuneration Systems (INeK), respectively.

The applications for the 2023 ICD-10-GM and OPS changes should be developed using the application forms provided on the BfArM website and submitted via email (vorschlagsverfahren@bfarm.de). The deadline for the submission of the applications is February 28, 2022.

The applications for the 2023 DRG changes should be submitted via the InEK data portal. The deadline for the submission of the applications is March 31, 2022. However, submission before February 28, 2022, is recommended to give InEK sufficient time to inquire clarifications if needed. This particularly applies to complex requests.

The full details in German can be found here (for ICD-10-GM and OPS changes applications) and here (for DRG changes applications).
