On March 17, 2021, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) published the determined funding priorities.
The following funding priorities were defined:
- Further development of care through digitization
- Interdisciplinary or cross-sectoral supply networks and pathways
- Psychotherapeutic care for vulnerable groups
- Prevention and care of mental diseases
- Lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic for the advancement of care
- A good start in life with networked care
The funding process will be conducted in two stages. First, applicants will submit the idea, presenting the main content of the planned project on a maximum of 12 pages. The Innovation Committee then will decide which ideas will be funded for concept development and the preparation of a qualified application (full application). The preparation of a complete application can be supported for a period of up to six months with a grant of up to a maximum of €75,000.
The deadline for submitting ideas is June 1, 2021, at noon. Applications can only be submitted in electronic form via the internet portal of the project sponsor responsible for handling the funding measures, the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR). The DLR also offers an information event in the form of a web seminar. The approximately one-hour web seminar will take place on April 20, 2021, at 11 a.m.
The Innovation Committee is expected to decide which ideas of the submitted ideas were selected at the end of the third quarter of 2021. Those applicants will be invited to prepare a complete application.
