New video on the Market Access Insider Youtube channel: Interview with Andrea Zanella about IVD market in Italy

MTRC has released the new video on the Market Access Insider Youtube channel. Oleg Borisenko spoke to Mr. Andrea Zanella, CEO of DIANAX S.r.l. about market access for in-vitro diagnostic tests in Italy.

DIANAX S.r.l. is an Italian-French international company that works in the IVD Point-of-Care testing field, and it is directly involved in the COVID-19 emergency with its COVID-AITM system of quantitative IgG / IgM Serological Tests with Artificial Intelligence, in collaboration with BioSpeedia SAS, a spin-off of the Institut Pasteur.

Andrea is also a former vice-chairman of the Italian Med Tech Industry Association – Confindustria Dispositivi Medici (previously ASSOBIOMEDICA).

The interview covered the specifics of market access for in-vitro diagnostic tests, the role of national and regional stakeholders, the role of health technology assessment in market access for IVD tests, and the role of industry in market access activities.

Draft Order amending the Common Package of Benefits of the Spanish National Health System

On February 21, 2022, it was announced by the Ministry of Health that the public consultation regarding the Draft Order amending the Common Package of Benefits of the National Health System (SNS) was open. The amendments and clarifications are related to the fields of in-vitro diagnostics, ENT, pulmonary and airways, e-health, neurology, dental care, radiology, and enteral nutrition.

New procedure and diagnostic codes added to the private reimbursement schedule in England

In February 2021, the Clinical Coding and Schedule Development (CCSD) working group, which develops and maintains procedural and diagnostics nomenclature for private payers in England, published Bulletins 0182 and 0079 with changes to be implemented no later than April 10, 2022. Three new procedure codes concerned robotic surgery in orthopaedic area, spinal procedures, and ophthalmology, and five new diagnostic codes were introduced.
