The updated LPPR list for add-on reimbursement published in France

On February 18, 2021, a new List of Reimbursable Products and Services (LPPR) was published. It contains new devices included in the LPPR list in January-February 2021, as well as other modifications made during this period.

In the updated version of the LPPR, there are several newly introduced codes for medical devices.

Regarding the cardiovascular technology group,  aortic valve bioprosthesis implanted via transfemoral route PORTICO associated with installation and loading system FLEXNAV by Abbott under the code 3245340, with the reimbursement tariff of €12,132.50 was added to the LPPR list.

Regarding the diagnostic imaging technology group, guidewire for FFR measurement COMET II by Boston Scientific under the code 5208260 with the reimbursement tariff of €400 was added to the LPPR list.

Regarding the ENT technology group, a processor for cochlear or brainstem implants RONDO 3 by MED-EL under the code 3439044 with the reimbursement tariff of €6,000 was added to the LPPR list.

On February 21, 2022, it was announced by the Ministry of Health that the public consultation regarding the Draft Order amending the Common Package of Benefits of the National Health System (SNS) was open. The amendments and clarifications are related to the fields of in-vitro diagnostics, ENT, pulmonary and airways, e-health, neurology, dental care, radiology, and enteral nutrition.

In February 2021, the Clinical Coding and Schedule Development (CCSD) working group, which develops and maintains procedural and diagnostics nomenclature for private payers in England, published Bulletins 0182 and 0079 with changes to be implemented no later than April 10, 2022. Three new procedure codes concerned robotic surgery in orthopaedic area, spinal procedures, and ophthalmology, and five new diagnostic codes were introduced.

On February 07, 2022, the Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency has announced the withdrawal of the assessments of the PhysioMem PM 100 and CardioMem CM 100 XT and the finalization of the assessments of the Zenicor ECG, Coala Heart Monitor Pro, and KardiaMobile. For the conducted assessments, it was outlined that the portable devices provide more limited information than standard ECG measurements; therefore, it was mainly estimated for atrial fibrillation.
