We have released the second part of the interview on the Market Access Insider channel on Youtube. Michel Verhasselt is the Founder and CEO of Meditech Access SAS.

The interview covered key stakeholders, procedure coding, principles of functioning of DRG system and add-on reimbursement for medical devices via LPPR List. Reimbursement pathways for devices, evidence requirements, pricing considerations, innovation funding (PHRC, PRME, forfeit innovation, Article 51, ETAPES program) were also discussed.

On February 15, 2022, the French National Authority for Health (HAS) announced the start of the submission period for the applications for new procedure codes and IVD tests to be included in the 2023 HAS working program. Furthermore, a new platform for dossier submission is launched.

On January 26, 2022, the HAS published standards for medical telemonitoring of four chronic pathologies (chronic respiratory failure, chronic heart failure, chronic renal failure, and diabetes). These standards must be met by technologies in order to be reimbursed by the new reimbursement framework for telemonitoring, which is expected to enter into force in July 2022.

The French Ministry of Solidarity and Health constantly announces the new experiments initiated under Article 51 of the Social Security Financing Act. These experiments are focused on various topics concerning medical technologies and the organization of care. At the beginning of January 2022, new experiments were announced which relate to geriatric care, autonomy loss prevention, physical rehabilitation during and after cancer treatment.
