MTRC has released European reimbursement report for hernia repair in 11 EU countries

In October 2021, two clinical guidelines on inguinal hernia developed by the collaboration of All-Russian public organization "Society of Herniologists" and Russian Society of Surgeons and postoperative ventral hernia developed by the collaboration of All-Russian public organization "Society of Herniologists" and Russian Society of Surgeons were released in Russia.

The Scottish Health Technologies Group (SHTG) is a national health technology assessment (HTA) agency providing advice to NHSScotland on the use of new and existing health technologies, likely to have a significant impact on healthcare. In the third quarter of 2021, SHTG published only one report in relation to HeartFlow fractional flow reserve computerized tomography (FFRCT). Currently, the SHTG is working on assessments of technologies in the field of diabetes, digital health, surgical procedures, and other topics.

The report presents a summary of the reimbursement situation for the use of treatment methods of scoliosis in Europe. The following procedures are considered under the scope of analysis: insertion of the spinal (growing) rod system, anterior or posterior interbody fusion in the spine with or without vertebra resection, sacroiliac joint fusion surgery. The analysis covers procedure coding, payment mechanism, reimbursement tariffs and policy restrictions in 11 EU countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. It is also possible to add analysis in the Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Romania, Russia and Turkey.

The following procedures are considered under the scope of analysis: high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), cryoablation, focal laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, microwave thermal ablation of the prostate. Open and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, as well as external radioation therapy and low-dose-rate barchytherapy, are considered as comparators. The analysis covers procedure coding, payment mechanism, reimbursement tariffs and policy restrictions in 11 EU countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. It is also possible to add analysis in the Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Romania, Russia and Turkey.

The analysis covers procedure coding, payment mechanism, reimbursement tariffs and policy restrictions in 11 EU countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. It is also possible to add analysis in the Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Romania, Russia and Turkey.
