MTRC has launched platform for online education and seminars on market access

Market access is a complex discipline that includes topics of reimbursement, funding, health technology assessment, clinical epidemiology, and stakeholder engagement.

At the moment, there is no good introductory training in market access for medical devices in Europe. Market access professionals develop an understanding of the disciple through work experience and conferences.

MTRC is bridging the gap with its novel product - “Med Tech Market Access Academy” (www.a-marketaccess.com).

“Med Tech Market Access Academy” is a unique repository of online courses and seminars on European market access for medical devices and in-vitro diagnostic tests.

Seminars are delivered as pre-recorded webinars and cover a general introduction into market access, and country-specific overviews. We are launching the platform with 6 seminars (general introduction into market access, and reimbursement overviews in EU5) and expect to add 4-6 seminars each month.

Introductory course on market access (3 hours) covers the topics of reimbursement, payment mechanisms, DRG system, innovation payment schemes, funding and willingness to pay, role of clinical and economic evidence, health technology assessment, stakeholder engagement and reimbursement pathways.

Reimbursement overviews of individual European countries include information about key stakeholders, money flow, payment mechanisms, DRG system, innovation funding landscape, funding frameworks, the role of health technology assessment.

Plans for the release of seminars in May-July 2019:

  • May 2019: country overviews for Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden
  • June 2019: EU introduction into market access for IVD tests; country overviews for Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Russia, and Switzerland
  • July 2019: country overviews for Hungary, the Netherlands, Romania; overview of innovative payment schemes in Europe
