Danish Health Authority has published overview of changes of DRG system for 2019

The amendments to DRG2019 consisted of proposals postponed from previous years, previous consultation responses, consultation response for  DRG2018 tariffs and new incoming proposals for DRG2019. In addition, changes have been implemented as a result of the consultation response that came to DRG2019. The full list of amendments and consultation responses can be found at the web-site of the Danish Health Authority.

Six new DRGs has been added in 2019, including:

  • 03PR07 “Replacement of processor in cochleart implant” (Udskiftning af processor i cochleart implantat)
  • 03SP07 “Joint package: Exploration and diagnosis of lack of smell and taste”  (Sammedagspakke: Udredning og diagnosticering af manglende lugte- og smagssans)
  • 12MP01 “Insertion of functional implants in the urinary tract or male genitals” (Indsættelse af funktionelle implantater i urinveje eller mandlige kønsorganer)
  • 27MP16 “Special complex chemotherapy, hematology” (Særlig kompleks kemobehandling, hæmatologi)
  • 27PR01 “Proton therapy” (Protonterapi)
  • 40PR01 “Lymph node treatment”  (Lymfeødembehandling)

In February 2021, the Clinical Coding and Schedule Development (CCSD) working group, which develops and maintains procedural and diagnostics nomenclature for private payers in England, published Bulletins 0182 and 0079 with changes to be implemented no later than April 10, 2022. Three new procedure codes concerned robotic surgery in orthopaedic area, spinal procedures, and ophthalmology, and five new diagnostic codes were introduced.

At the end of February 2022, the Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency (TLV) has launched a theme survey on products for monitoring and diagnostics of sepsis to identify products that may be relevant for health economic assessments at TLV. The suggestions for the products of interest, ongoing clinical studies, or innovation projects could be received until 23 March 2022.

On February 08, 2022, the Reimbursement Commission of the Social Security Institution released an updated version of the Healthcare Implementation Communique. The main changes relate to the increase in reimbursement fees of services and medical devices by approximately 35-75%.
